Description

Crema Mascarpone is a luxurious treat combining the richness of mascarpone cheese with the velvety smoothness of cream, creating a creamy and dreamy dessert. It is perfect for your next dinner party or a simple after-dinner indulgence with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/3 cup whipping cream (cold)
  • 1/3 cup mascarpone cheese (at room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon powdered sugar (also known as icing sugar or confectioners sugar)

Optional ingredients

  • berries to decorate

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add the cream. With an electric mixer or a whisk, beat the cream until it forms soft peaks (do not overbeat the cream, as it will turn to butter)
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixture and powdered sugar. Add the mascarpone cheese (room temperature). Beat for about 10-15 seconds or until well combined. Don't overbeat the mixture. The mixture should be a smooth and a fluffy consistency.
(Adjust the sweetness to your liking, adding more sugar if you like it sweet. This will influence the overall taste of your Crema Mascarpone.)
  3. Transfer the whipped Crema Mascarpone into serving glasses or bowls and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour. This chilling period allows the flavors to meld.
  4. Before serving, adorn your Crema Mascarpone with an assortment of fresh berries. The berries' burst of color and natural sweetness add a visually appealing and flavorful finishing touch.

Notes

Chill for Optimal Texture: Allow the Crema Mascarpone to chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour. This not only enhances the flavors but also ensures the dessert reaches the ideal consistency for serving.

Gradual Sugar Addition: Add powdered sugar gradually, tasting as you go. This allows you to tailor the sweetness to your preference. Remember, adding more sweetness later than correcting an overly sweet dessert is easier.
