Description

The best cottage cheese mousse (vegetarian) is high in protein, low in fat, and so delicious—not to mention, it’s a breeze to whip up in under 5 minutes! Whether you’re on the hunt for a gluten-free dessert or just want something delicious without the guilt, this mousse is ready to answer the call.

Ingredients

Scale

1 tub of cottage cheese, (250 g)

3-4 tablespoons maple syrup

2 teaspoons cocoa powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3-4 blocks of chocolate, (about 24 g - chop the chocolate up)

Instructions

  1. Blend Everything Together
Toss the cottage cheese, chopped-up chocolate, cocoa powder, maple syrup, and vanilla extract into your blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust with a bit more syrup if you like it sweeter!
  2.  Chill (Optional)
For a slightly thicker mousse, chill in the fridge for 10-15 minutes. Or, if you’re too excited, dig right in!
  3. 💫 If you loved this recipe, leave a 5-star review and rating!

Notes

Blend Until Smooth
For that perfect, creamy mousse texture, make sure to blend until everything is nice and smooth. Cottage cheese and chocolate can be a bit chunky, so give it a little extra time to reach that fluffy, mousse-like consistency.

Scrape the Sides
Midway through blending, stop to scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure every bit of chocolate and cottage cheese is fully incorporated. Then, blend some more until you achieve the ideal texture.

Sweeten to Taste
Maple syrup adds a lovely depth of flavor, but feel free to substitute it with a low-calorie sweetener if you want to keep this even lighter.

Chill for Extra Firmness
While you can dig in right away, popping your mousse in the fridge for about 15 minutes will give it a firmer, more pudding-like texture. Perfect if you like a slightly thicker consistency!
