❤️ Here's why you will love this dip
A SIMPLE DISH: This recipe uses straightforward ingredients to create a dish that melts in your mouth.
SO MANY GOOD FLAVOURS: The sautéed spinach adds a burst of earthy richness, while the blend of cheeses creates a gooey, irresistible topping.
A TRUE CROWD-PLEASER: This dip will hit the spot, whether served as a party appetizer or enjoyed as a cozy snack. When I'm hosting a party, I like to serve it first, followed by Penne Napoli Pasta as a main and my decadent Spekuloos Tiramisu for dessert.
Ingredients needed and substations
BLOCK OF CREAM CHEESE: My favorite is Philadelphia Cream Cheese.
SOUR CREAM
MAYONNAISE: This gives a tangy flavor. You can leave it out and use extra sour cream.
SPINACH LEAVES: Fresh or frozen. Once sauteed, make sure to drain all excess liquid to avoid having a runny dip.
GARLIC: Minced or dried garlic. If you are not a huge garlic fan, leave out or reduce the amount of garlic ¼ teaspoon.
SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE
GRATED CHEDDAR CHEESE: You can swap this for parmesan cheese.
SHREDDED MOZZAREALL: This gives the dip its gooey, stringy texture.
COOKING SPRAY: Optional but does prevent the dip from sticking to the bowl.
GREEN GARNISH: To garnish

Sautee Spinach: Start by sauteeing the fresh spinach leaves in a pan until cooked through. Once tender, drain all the excess liquid well to ensure our dip maintains the perfect consistency.
Creamy Cheese Blend: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese with sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic, cheddar, and mozzarella cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy, creating a base for our dip.
Spinach: Add the sauteed spinach to the cream cheese mixture, blending until well incorporated.
Bake: Preheat your oven and prepare a baking dish with cooking spray. Spread the spinach and cream cheese mixture evenly in the dish, then sprinkle the reserved cheese on top.
Into the Oven: Bake the dip until golden and bubbly, about 20 minutes. If you would like an extra golden top, you can broil for 1-2 minutes. Once beautifully golden, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
WHAT ARE SOME GREAT ADDITIONS TO ADD TO CREAMED SPINACH DIP?
- Artichoke Hearts: Add a ½ a can of drained and chopped artichoke hearts for an extra layer of flavor and texture. The tangy taste of artichokes pairs beautifully with the creamy spinach dip.
- Sun-Dried Tomatoes: Chop up some sun-dried tomatoes and fold them into the dip for a sweet and savory twist.
- Roasted Red Peppers: Dice some roasted red peppers and mix them into the dip for a pop of sweetness and smokiness.
- Caramelized Onions: Sauté thinly sliced onions until golden and caramelized, then stir them into the dip for a sweet and savory flavor.
- Jalapeños: For a spicy kick, add some diced jalapeños to the dip. They add heat and a zesty flavor that balances well with the creamy base.
- Herbs and Spices: Experiment with different herbs and spices. Fresh herbs like basil, thyme, or dill can add brightness, while spices like smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, or cumin can add depth.
- Crunchy Toppings: Sprinkle the top of the dip with crushed nuts or crispy fried onions for added texture.
TIPS AND TRICKS
Properly Drain the Spinach: After sautéing the spinach, make sure to drain it well to remove excess moisture. This helps prevent the dip from becoming too watery.
Room Temperature Ingredients: To ensure a smooth and creamy texture, allow your cream cheese to come to room temperature before mixing it with the other ingredients. This makes it easier to blend and results in a smoother dip.
Adjust Seasonings: Taste the dip before baking and adjust the seasonings accordingly. You can add more salt, pepper, or garlic to suit your taste preferences.
Serve with Dippers: Consider serving the dip with an assortment of dippers, such as gluten-free crackers, fresh vegetables, or tortilla chips.
❓ FAQS
What are some gluten-free dippers I can serve with this dip?
There are many gluten-free options for dippers, including gluten-free crackers, tortilla chips made from corn or cassava, rice crackers, sliced vegetables such as carrots, celery, bell peppers, and cucumber, as well as gluten-free bread or baguette slices.
Can I use frozen spinach instead of fresh?
Yes, you can substitute frozen spinach for fresh spinach in this recipe. Thaw the frozen spinach and squeeze out any excess moisture before adding it to the cream cheese mixture.

Be sure to check that all ingredients are labeled as dairy-free and gluten-free if you have dietary restrictions.
How long can I leave the dip out at room temperature during a party?

STORAGE: Allow the leftover dip to cool to room temperature before storing it. Place the airtight container in the refrigerator. The dip can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
REHEATING: When you're ready to enjoy the leftover dip, reheat it in the microwave or oven. If reheating in the microwave, heat it in short intervals, stirring in between, until heated through. If reheating in the oven, transfer the dip to an oven-safe dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) until warmed to your liking.
