🍵 WHAT IS MATCHA?
Matcha is a finely ground powder made from specially grown green tea leaves. Unlike regular green tea, where the leaves are steeped and removed, matcha powder is whisked into liquids, allowing you to consume the whole leaf. It's known for its vibrant green color, earthy flavor, and high antioxidant content.
🌱 WHAT DOES MATCHA TASTE LIKE?
Earthy & Slightly Bitter: Matcha has a rich, earthy flavor with a subtle bitterness that balances beautifully with sweet ingredients. (especially when it's added to cheesecake!)
Grassy & Refreshing: The flavor is fresh, almost grassy, but it also feels energizing.

👩🏼🍳 HOW TO MAKE GREEN TEA MATCHA
You can find the complete printable recipe below.
Set the oven to 180'C (350'F)
TO MAKE THE COOKIE BASE
Place the Oreo cookies (with the creme filling) in a high-speed blender and blend until the cookies form crumbs. Add melted butter and combine.
Transfer the cookies into a greased 8-inch springform pan and press down to form a base. Set aside.
TO MAKE THE CHEESECAKE FILLING
Next, whip the cream to form soft peaks.
Add the condensed milk and soft cream cheese to the cream. Whip slowly for about 30 seconds or until all ingredients have blended. Don't overmix. Add the lemon juice, vanilla essence, and match powder. Fold these ingredients in using a spatula.
Pour the filling into the prepared cookie base.
Place into a preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven. The cheesecake still cooks once removed from the hot oven, which will set perfectly. Serve the cheesecake once it has completely cooled down.
Optional to decorate with fresh strawberries, grated chocolate, or crushed Oreos. Enjoy! X
WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO REMOVE THE CAKE FROM THE PAN?
Make sure that the cheesecake is 100% cool. Then the easiest way to remove the cheesecake from the pan is to first run a thin knife around the edges to loosen it from the sides. Then, gently unlock and remove the springform pan's outer ring. Place the cheesecake (with the bottom of the cake pan still attached) onto a cake stand or plate.
🍓 CAN I DECORATE THE CHEESECAKE?
Absolutely! You can decorate your matcha cheesecake to make it extra special. Dust the top with a light sprinkle of matcha powder for a bold green finish, or add swirls of whipped cream around the edges. Fresh berries, like strawberries or raspberries, bring a pop of color and sweetness. For an extra touch, drizzle white chocolate or add edible flowers to give it that elegant, Instagram-worthy vibe!
📝 TIPS AND TRICKS
- Quality Matcha: The key to a delicious matcha-baked cheesecake lies in the quality of the matcha powder. Invest in premium-grade matcha if you can.
- Room Temperature For Ingredients: Use cream cheese at room temperature so that it's soft and easy to combine.
- Patience: Once your cheesecake is baked to perfection, remove it and allow it to cool gradually. The cheesecake still cooks once removed from the hot oven, which will set perfectly. Serve the cheesecake once it has completely cooled down.
